My photography style is a mixture of documentary, creative and a little bit of "edge". Sure, it's nice to have posed pictures of the bride and groom smiling nicely at the camera- but I think a wedding is so much more than that. It's about documenting a love story. Not just the big moments, but all the "in-betweens" as well. The moments that capture a lifetime of love and emotion.
Yes! My focus is on small + intimate weddings and elopements. I want to be as intimately involved in documenting your day as I can be, and look for clients who desire for me to not only document the big moments of their day, but every moment in-between as well. I utilize natural light to it's fullest, and love to zero in on weddings that are located outdoors or in beautifully lit indoor venues. Church rooms or community halls- not so much; I generally stay away from those.
I will be honest, I am not for everyone, and not everyone is for me. I want couples who have a little edgy to them; who love creativity, and out-of-the-box ideas. More importantly, if you are soley looking for a vendor, for a photographer to simply show up the day of, complete their job and call it a day, then our paths will not cross. I'm talking relationship. I'm talking investing. I want to know you and for their to be a relationship that goes beyond client + photographer.
Generally, no. I shoot 99.99% of my weddings solo, and am completely comfortable + confident in doing so. But if you want one, then you will have one. This is something that can be added onto your package. I will be honest with you, if there is a lot going on during your day and I think it would be best to have a 2nd photographer, we would discuss that.
As I am intimately involved in your wedding day, I hold it to the utmost importance that we develop a good relationship before your day arrives. I want to be "part of the family" by the time of your wedding. I include a complimentary engagement session with all wedding packages. These sessions are a perfect way for us to spend time together, just the three of us, getting to know each other and becoming comfortable infront of the camera.
You will receive many sneak peeks from your wedding day in the weeks following your wedding. Once the best images from your day have been carefully edited, you will receive your full high-resolution gallery between 4-6 weeks from your wedding date.
You bet I do! Whether it's Vancouver Island, Prince Edward Island or beyond, I love documeting and exploring new places.
